Ki Bo-bae won the gold in women's individual archery Thursday at the London Olympics.

Ki beat Aida Roman of Mexico in the final. South Korea has now won seven of the past eight Olympic gold medals in the women's individual archery.

After the two ended the regulation all tied at the set score of 5-5, both archers shot an 8 in the one-arrow shoot-off. But Ki was declared the champion because her shot was closer to the center of the target.

Ki also became the first double gold medalist for South Korea in London. She helped the country win the team gold medal earlier .

기보배, '기사회생' 금메달 획득! 


한국 여자양궁의 에이스  기보배(24))가 런던올림픽에서 금메달을 목에 걸었다.

   기보배는 2일(현지시간) 영국 런던의 로즈 크리켓 그라운드에서 열린 대회 여자개인전 결승에서 아이다 로만(멕시코)을 슛오프 끝에 6-5(27-25 26-26 26-29 30-22 26-27<8-8>)로 꺾었다.

    이로써 한국은 양궁에서 여자 단체전에 이어 두 번째 금메달을 수확했다.

    기보배는 여자 단체전 우승을 포함해 이번 올림픽 2관왕에 올랐다.

    한국은 1984년 로스앤젤레스 대회부터 이번 대회까지 8차례 여자 개인전에서  7차례 금메달을 획득하는 저력을 과시했다.

    직전 대회인 2008년 베이징올림픽 결승전에서 박성현이 패하면서 끊어진 금맥을 다시 이었다.
