John: Gosh， I got so embarrassed today at the office.
May: What happened?
John: We're talking about learning different languages and how exciting it can be sometimes when you actually meet and chat with the person from that country.
May: And?
John: I said that I studied Spanish for about 3 years in my university.
May: That's right. You speak good Spanish. I forgot about that.
John: Well， I got so excited that I tried to fix my manager's pronunciation when he asked "where did you learn Spanish?" in Spanish.
May: Oh， no.
John: Yeah， everybody laughed and told me that he worked in Spain for 10 years!
May: His mother is Spanish so he speaks the language fluently. You tried to teach a fish how to swim!
John: I had no idea!

John: 우린 외국어를 배우는 것과 실제로 그 나라에서 온 사람을 만나 이야기하게 되면 얼마나 신날까에 대해 얘기 하고 있었거든.
May: 그런데?
John: 내가 대학 다닐 때 3년 동안 스페인어를 배웠다고 말했지.
May: 맞다. 자기 스페인어 잘 하잖아. 잊고 있었어.
John: 그런데， 내가 너무 신이 나서 그만 우리 상사가 나한테 스페인어로 "어디에서 스페인어를 배웠어요?"라고 물어 보는데 발음을 고쳐 주려고 했지 뭐야.
May: 오， 저런.
John: 그래， 모두 웃으면서 나한테 그 분이 스페인에서 10년이나 근무했다고 말하는 거야.
May: 그 분 어머님이 스페인 사람이라서 스페인어 유창하게 하잖아. 자기가 번데기 앞에서 주름 잡았구나!
John: 난 까맣게 몰랐지!
