I really cooked my goose.

John: May£¬ you seem kind of ticked off. Is everything all right with you?
May: I really cooked my goose this time. How could I spill the coffee right on his pants!
John: What are you talking about?
May: My new boss! I have such bad luck with this guy. I sent a wrong e-mail to him on his first day£¬ which I was supposed to send to Jessie as a joke£¬ and I spilled hot coffee right on his lap today! What a disaster! He must think I'm an idiot or something.
John: Well£¬ you definitely haven't been very careful with a new person at the office£¬ especially if he's your new boss£¬ but I don't think they were huge mistakes. I'm sure you'll have other opportunities to make them up.
May: I just hope I won't get fired before I pay my rent this month.
