-> 여러분, 예를들어, ' 돈 좀 빌려 주세요' 라는 질문에, ' 얼마 필요한지에 달려 있죠'
라고 답하는 경우를 영어로 해 보면,
A : Can you lend me some money? 돈 좀 빌려 주실래요?
B : It depends on how much you need.
얼마 필요한지에 의합니다 (달려 있습니다).
위 예문에서 처럼, '...에 의하다' ' ...에 달려 있다'라는 표현이 영어에서,
depend on 입니다.
그리고, It depends 뒤에what/where/how '무엇인지에/어디로 가는지/어떻게
하는지에 달려있다고 말하는 경우처럼, 의문사가 오는 경우는, depend 뒤의 on을
써도 되고, 안 써도 됩니다.
A : Do you want to go out with us? 우리와 같이 갈래요?
B : It depends (on) where you are going? 어디로 가는지에 달려있어.
